Planning on flipping through
The Art of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles for the Roboblog Chronicles video webcast
tonight (7/11/07), so before then, I'd like to know -- what do YOU want to know about the book? What do you want to see? I've only got ten minutes, and I was thumbing through the book and boy, I have no clue how to distill all of that into ten little minutes. Leave your thoughts in the comments thread, please.
Thanks.

I like to see some prelim sketches of both characters and mecha. Any Mospeada or Southern Cross source art. Set designs for SSL & Haydonite's mothership.

I want to see the contradictions to what we knew used to "think" about the continuity...

If there's any detail on the production process or the people involved in it (namely Tommy Yune and the DR-Movie co-director), I'd be interested in seeing that..
Anything about the software used, techniques used, experience of the production team (although we sort-of know a lot of that).
Also, what Carl Macek says in the Introduction should be very interesting (or not, you tell me).
That sort of thing. The people in the process of working is more interesting than the end product..

I would say compare it to other art books, from movie, tv shows and the old Robotech art books. Does it show various design concepts or does it say really close to what is in SC. Does it give background info on the concepts. Did RT3000 designs creep into anything in RT:TSC? OH and Amazon is finally shipping out my book, I should have it next week if I'm lucky.

Wow JLS you had a part in this book? I'd like to hear about that. The only reason I purchased the new reprints of the McKinney novels was to read your appendices.I'd like to see as much concept art as you can squeeze into your review,Thanks

is there anything cool that didn't appear in the movie?

You should do like a best of show of what you like/love the best about it. and then maybe a worst of show of what you thought they could had did better or what they should have put in the art book.

Just got the art book today and saw your name in it and I was thinking that in the next robotech movie they should give you a part in it even if its a small one.

I hope they able to expand the universe than just re-hashing it.
Mech & ships that the Haydonites used were too...CGIed. They didn't blend well with the older Mosepeda influenced designs. In the art book, it shoulded them when they were drawn and they look alot better in that form. Thou i fear that mech to mech combat going be reduced to cgied imagines just firing fancy missiles...
Using exclusively the cyclons on the ground is going be suck. I wish they would consider introducing new things "ground mech" or completely new design of veritech of some kind.
Robotech 3000 thing was intresting, but the total CGI like failed Starship Troopers tv show seem to limiting. Thou it was dated by time we saw in the art book!
