More on the ANN poll ...
So yesterday Robotech.com linked to the Anime News Network poll about what anime introduced readers to the world of anime that I mentioned here. Today, ANN has closed this poll and, well, I think the note on their main page says it all:
At last tally, ROBOTECH had overtaken Dragon Ball for #2 with 11.4% of the vote. Obviously ANN figured out that this spike was highly unnatural and shut down their poll accordingly. Nice one, gang. I think Robotech.com's staff should have probably waited until after the poll was up before linking to it ... unless, of course, they wanted to add a little bit of irregularity to the poll. What, guys, was Pokemon nipping at your heels a bit too close for comfort?
The "What title was your introduction to Anime and/or Manga?" poll has been closed. The current results are not final and will be amended after irregularities are removed.

2 Comments:
Robotech was one of first series that got me interested in anime as well. The people that say Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball are their first experience are part of the younger crowd that wasn't around when Robotech and Tranzor Z where on TV. I am part of the generation that grew up with Robotech, Voltron, and Tranzor Z being shown on TV. The generation now day's has so much more to choose from than I did at their age.... but I do enjoy seeing how more anime keeps coming into the US market every year.
