So, it's another feature.
The Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles sequel, according to remarks by Tommy Yune to the folks at Anime News Network, is going to be another feature.
Aaaaaaaand, apparently that's all he said to 'em. No more details, eh? Wonder if there are even any details to spill ...

Sequel is going another feature?
I don't know if i like them re-writing the Robotech universe's history. Its something that bothers me alot. (referrence to Invid Regis parts and time at Reflex point.)
I hope they are able to do more this coming feature. Comic book seem to have more depth than the movie.
I just hope they'll be able to actually show destroids. I doubt it, but hey, a guy got hope.

MedMapGuy: Ack, I guess either I mistyped or you misread -- Dr. Lazlo Zand, in Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles, is tan because HE got a Protoculture mindboost in the novel "The Zentraedi Rebellion." At least that's what I assume given that whoever worked out that character design gave him that specific appearance. He's just wearing a uniform strongly similar to Louie's from the movie.
anon: If we're gonna see Destroids, it's going to be either the ones from Robotech II: The Sentinels or new ones. As I understand it, there's an old agreement between Harmony Gold and Tatsunoko that says that no Macross iconography can be used in new ROBOTECH animation. That's why all the Macross characters appear so radically different in the Sentinels animation, and why Rick Hunter is so different-looking in The Shadow Chronicles (besides it being about thirty years or so since we saw him last in The Macross Saga). Hell, I wonder if even the Sentinels Destroids are different enough to be usable in new animation ... after all, the Zentraedi were given Bioroids in the Prelude comic book series instead of, say, the Z-series Battlepods from Sentinels (seen in the RPG books and the back of Robotech Art 3).

Freaky. Okay. PC Mindboosts aren't canon anymore, right?? Then why does Zand look shriveled up like that in the TSC comics..?

Y'know, I'm not sure if they're canon or not. After all, remember how the scientists in "From The Stars" were talking about how Dr. Lang didn't look well? I figured that was a way of alluding to some sort of effect that the Protoculture was having on Lang, and of course the long-time fans would figure it had something to do with his "touch the console, win a prize" moment from the McKinney novels. None of the new material has really been "yea" or "nay" on that count. "From The Stars" avoided the issue of the initial exploration of the SDF-1 entirely; the only thing we know for SURE is different between the current version of events and the prior version of events (see Comico's Robotech Graphic Novel and McKinney's "Genesis") is that Fokker wasn't along for the trip.
More than anything, I actually do want Zand's entire backstory to remain the same, so that we can see him and Dana in the next animation and she can kick his totally freaky ass for everything he's ever done to her.
