The Roboblog Chronicles: Episode 11.5

Offered without comment ... I read and respond to episode 11's comments thread while very, very tired.

  • You're thinking about doing a episode on Robotech comics? What is there to think about? As Nike says, just do it! The comics are what kept me going from about 1987/88 when I discovered them until HG pulled the license from AP. Of course, that was the dawning of Robotech.com, which had it's own high and low points over the years. That could be a possible future topic, too.

  • Well, to be fair, how many all-new mecha designs are there in Shadow Chronicles? Three and a half? It doesn't excuse the lousy execution of that section, but it might explain it (oh, and the "big, big screen grab, lots of smaller pictures around it" layout). However, the section on the ship designs -- new AND old -- is pretty good.

Still, yeah, a mecha show artbook with a less than satisfactory mecha section does sound like it's rather missing the point, doesn't it? *sigh*s

  • Haha, I understand... It's just that after seeing those Sentinels mecha lineart, I was kinda bummed that when you showed the mecha lineart I was like "Oh no, not the Mospeada lineart and the Prelude mecha lineart that is so freely available on the net."

The RPG is probably the only HG merchandise I'm really looking forward too.

  • I wouldn't mind seeing something on the comics, too. The Macross, Masters and New Generation stuff is pretty easy to come by around here, but the Sentinels stuff? Forget it.
