Art 1 will always be special to me because I found the book by accident during the dark days of Robotech. It was like an old friend had returned. I kind of liked the balance between text and art in that book, although I guess an art book, by definition, should have more art. Art 2 was an art book, and a very interesting experiment. I don't know if there has ever been a book like it before or after in America for 'a cartoon'. Art 3.....um, what's up with the gray, white, and red art? Even the pages filled with text looked half empty. And did Breetai die twice? I wish they had more line art! As for Art of the Shadow Chronicles, I don't think there was enough text. I wanted to read new and exciting things about the production and the characters and there just wasn't much. And screen grabs aren't the best thing to fill an art book with. Don't get me wrong. I liked the book. But still, if there is an 'Art of the Shadow Chronicles 2', I hope they do better.
As for appeasing the fans, RADIO DRAMA!!!! Macross did it, why can't Robotech? HG still has the voice actors around attending cons and such. Why not? It's great for promotion. And side stories. And they could do stories about Rick and Lisa. Or Max and Miriya. Or Sentinels stories. Anything they wanted, really. They could do something with Minmei and not have to worry about 'copyright issues' if it is just Reba West doing a voice without the character design.
I don't think HG would do it, though. :( Oh well, I can dream.

For the next two looong years of Robotech fandom, it better be more than so-so cellphone games, text-based only teaser trailers with the new Robotech TSC 2 logo at the end and breakable overpriced toys. Please!

Definately, HG needs to step up and create excitement.

They should get the shadow chronicles RPG out frist and then they could give us the shadow chronicles script in a book like they di with the sentinels.

I sincerely hope something comes out of your work on "The Untold Story," even if it's just a free release. Of course, I'm one of the few people who liked the film, so I'm biased. ^_^
I agree with admiral dmc mckeever: a radio drama would be a welcome thing. There have been a number of "Star Wars" radio dramas, and they've all been fairly successful. Heck, Harmony Gold could go the "Tales of the Jedi" route and adopt an existing comic series into a radio play; both "Tales" and "Dark Lords of the Sith" were excellently done in that format.
What do you think the chances of Harmony Gold ever commissioning some more Robotech fiction are? The original novel series seemed to have been fairly successful, so I'd imagine there's a market for new material - even if it didn't follow what came before. I'd love to see a anthology similar to the "Tales From The..." series in Star Wars, with short stories focusing on ancillary Robotech characters. A Destroid Pilot on the SDF-01, perhaps, or a member of one of the other branches of the ASC. Something like that. There is so much untapped potential within the Robotech universe, and it'd be a shame to see it wasted.
