  • Like all things related to Shadow Chronicles, or for that matter any Robotech animated sequal-- I'll believe it when I can see the DVD with my own eyes in a Video Store!

  • You might also mention that until November 6th, RightStuf has a sale on all Funimation DVDs. Including Shadow Chronicles.

Use the coupon code 'theft' and the price drops to $17.99!

  • Sale? Posh! I must buy it at full retail to ensure it make enough of a profit to make a Shadow Chronicles series a reality!

But seriously, the only problem when it comes to buying DVDs in advance on the web... the eventual Best Buy/Circuit City/Target/Wal-Mart bonus disc or free gift. Though if they did that, what premium would they give? Trading cards? A disc with exclusive deleted scenes? Lenticular covers? Flower of Life seeds? (best I shush up before Harmony Gold and Funi get wind and think this kind of secular promotion a good idea...)

As opposed to the religious promotions Funimation are known for?

You mean you didn't notice "The 30th Annual Snake Handling Old Tyme Revival" on the list of festivals showing the movie?

I meant "Seclusive", I assure you.

  • Whether you buy it on sale or at full retail doesn't affect how much profit it makes; the middleman pays the same amount to the distributor regardless. (Unless the distributor and the middleman made some kind of cooperative arrangement to do the discounts, which is possible, but even in that event, it's the number of copies sold that shows how popular a title is, not the profit made from it.)

  • Me, I think I'm gonna hold off on the whole preordering thing, see if Wal-Mart or Best Buy wind up with some sort of bonus goodie. Since ADV holds all the OTHER Robotech animation DVD rights, it certainly couldn't be like the current Wal-Mart "bonus" where they packaged the last DBZ movie with the first volume of the TV series, and the FMA movie with the first volume of that TV series ... *ugh*
